Boulder CO Painters terms of service

Terms of service

These terms apply to painting services provided by Boulder CO Painters, a trade name of Search Converts LLC, a Colorado limited liability company. Every written proposal incorporates them. Where a signed proposal and these terms differ, the signed proposal controls.

Estimates and proposals

Written estimates are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. An estimate is based on the conditions visible at the time it was prepared. Hidden conditions discovered after work begins, such as rot behind trim, failed substrate or undisclosed prior coatings, are priced as a written change order and require your approval before that portion proceeds.

Scheduling and weather

Exterior work is weather dependent. We will not apply coatings outside the manufacturer's stated temperature, humidity and surface conditions. Weather delays are not a breach of agreement, and we will communicate schedule changes as they happen rather than afterward.

Payment

A deposit reserves your scheduled dates. The balance is due at substantial completion, following your walkthrough. Specific amounts and any progress-payment schedule are stated on the proposal. We accept cash, check and major credit cards.

Materials and color

Unless the proposal states that you are supplying materials, we purchase the products named in it. Colors are confirmed by you in writing before application. Color changes after materials have been purchased or application has begun may incur additional cost. Screen and print representations of color are approximations.

Access and site conditions

You agree to provide reasonable access to the work areas, including utilities and water where required. You are responsible for securing pets and for removing or identifying fragile and valuable items. We protect surfaces not being coated as a standard part of the work.

Warranty

We provide a written 5-year workmanship warranty covering peeling, flaking, blistering and adhesion failure attributable to our surface preparation or application. It excludes normal ultraviolet fading and chalking, damage from water intrusion not caused by us, substrate failure, acts of nature, impact damage, and surfaces we recommended replacing that were coated at your direction. Coatings carry separate manufacturer warranties. Full terms are on our warranty page.

Lead-safe practices

Housing built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint. Work that disturbs those surfaces is performed in accordance with the federal EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting rule. You agree to disclose the year of construction and any known lead testing results.

Historic district and association approvals

Where a property is landmarked, contributes to a historic district, or is governed by an association, obtaining approval for exterior color and material changes is the owner's responsibility. We will assist with samples and submission materials. Work is scheduled after approval is confirmed.

Insurance

We carry liability insurance and provide a certificate on request before work begins.

Cancellation

Either party may cancel before work begins. Deposits are refundable less any materials already purchased or custom-tinted for your project. Cancellation after work has commenced is settled for the work completed and materials used to that point.

Limitation of liability

Our liability is limited to the contract amount for the work performed. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under Colorado law.

Privacy

Information submitted through this site is used to respond to your inquiry and to provide services. We do not sell personal information. Photographs you send are used for estimating and may be used in project documentation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Venue for any dispute lies in Boulder County, Colorado.
